Straight answers, before you talk to sales
The questions we hear most from voice, platform and compliance teams evaluating Klicko.
What exactly is Klicko?
Klicko is a programmable voice gateway: a single platform that connects SIP carriers, customer PBXs, browser-based calling, and voice AI platforms, then routes calls between them according to policies you control — with recording, real-time billing and operational visibility included.
Do I need to switch carriers to use Klicko?
No. Klicko is carrier-agnostic — you connect your existing SIP trunk as an upstream provider and keep your existing numbers and contracts. Klicko sits in the routing path; it doesn't replace your carrier relationship.
Can our customers call from a browser without installing anything?
Yes. Browser-based calling works through a standard web browser with no plugin, using short-lived credentials issued per session — no permanent password is ever sent to the browser.
How does billing and usage tracking work?
Calls are authorized against available credit in real time, metered as they run, and settled exactly once against an immutable ledger — never a simple balance column that can drift or double-count. Both prepaid and postpaid billing modes are supported.
Is Klicko multi-tenant? Can we resell it to our own customers?
Yes — tenants, projects and environments are core to the platform, not an add-on. Each tenant's data, routing, billing and users are isolated, with role-based access control and full audit logging, making it a fit for platforms that need to serve their own downstream customers.
How do we discuss deployment requirements?
Deployment planning is handled directly with qualified teams. We review traffic profile, carrier relationships, operational ownership, security expectations and rollout goals before recommending a path. See our deployment review page.
Can we connect our own voice AI platform?
Yes. Klicko connects to voice AI platforms whether they communicate over SIP or expect a raw, real-time audio stream — routing real phone calls and browser calls to your AI agent, with live transfer to a human when needed. See Voice AI integration.
Are calls recorded, and how is that data protected?
Recording is configurable per route and tenant — disabled, always-on, or on-demand. Recordings are spooled before upload, encrypted at rest, checksum-verified on upload, and every playback or download is access-audited.
What happens if our storage or a carrier has an outage?
Recording is spooled durably before upload, so a storage outage never blocks or corrupts a live call — it retries once storage is available again. Carrier outages trigger automatic failover to a configured backup route where one exists, and provider health is monitored continuously.
How do we get started?
Tell us about your current carrier setup, expected call volume, and whether you need browser calling or voice AI integration — we'll recommend a deployment model and walk through a live test call together. Request a demo to begin.
